All classes in the school are responsible for the upkeep of the vegetable plots and the abundant orchard. Nurturing of the garden and orchard are integrated in learning programmes. Matua John Filia (caretaker / groundsman) assists students and teachers with their projects.

Each class prepares a 'Garden to Table' menu and creates delicious seasonal food for the whole school to enjoy.

Taking action to reduce waste is an integral part of day to day learning.

Students and staff:

  • think about environmental impacts of products before we buy

  • cut down on single-use plastics and packaging

  • reuse what we have

  • buy products that are made from recycled materials and are recyclable

  • waste less food

  • compost and recycling more
